What humidity level should I aim for in winter?

Heat pumps do not produce as much heat as furnaces, so traditional bypass humidifiers do not evaporate well off heat pump air. Steam humidifiers are the right choice for heat pump homes in Southern NH. They generate their own moisture independently of the heat source.
