We Find Every Rebate. We File the Paperwork.
We are a registered NHSaves contractor. When you get an estimate from us, we show you every rebate that applies to your specific home and equipment before you sign anything. Point-of-sale incentives (like the NE Heat Pump Accelerator) are applied directly to your invoice at installation, so you never see a paper check. For NHSaves mail-in and online rebates we prepare the application together and file it after your final invoice is paid (NHSaves requires a paid invoice and uses your billing info, so the homeowner signs and submits).
A note on federal credits: the Section 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit expired December 31, 2025. Equipment installed in 2026 does not qualify. If you have questions about your specific tax situation, your accountant is the right person to ask.

Rebate FAQ
What is NHSaves?
NHSaves is a statewide energy efficiency program funded by Eversource, Unitil, and Liberty Utilities. If you pay a utility bill in NH, you have been contributing to this fund through a small charge. NHSaves lets homeowners get some of that money back by upgrading to qualifying high-efficiency equipment, including heat pumps, gas furnaces, boilers, heat pump water heaters, smart thermostats, and weatherization improvements.
Are federal tax credits still available in 2026?
No. The Section 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit and the Section 25D Residential Clean Energy Credit both expired on December 31, 2025, under the One Big Beautiful Bill. Equipment installed in 2026 does not qualify for either credit. NHSaves utility rebates and the NE Heat Pump Accelerator are still active and are the main rebate programs available to NH homeowners this year.
Do I need a specific contractor to get NHSaves rebates?
For most NHSaves rebates, yes. You need to work with a registered NHSaves contractor. A.J. LeBlanc Heating is registered, which means we can apply point-of-sale rebates directly at installation and help you complete the mail-in and online NHSaves applications for everything else. Working with a non-registered contractor usually means losing access to the rebate entirely.
Do I have to file the rebate paperwork myself?
It depends on the rebate. Point-of-sale rebates (like the NE Heat Pump Accelerator and certain instant NHSaves discounts) are applied directly to your invoice at installation, so there is no paperwork on your end. For NHSaves mail-in and online rebates, NHSaves requires the homeowner's billing information and a paid final invoice, so the homeowner signs and submits the application. We fill out the paperwork together at the kitchen table and file once your final invoice is paid.
How long does it take to receive my rebate?
Point-of-sale rebates show up immediately on your invoice at installation, no waiting. For mail-in NHSaves rebates filed after your final invoice is paid, NHSaves typically processes the application within 6 to 8 weeks. The rebate check is mailed directly to the homeowner since NHSaves uses your billing information for verification.
I heat with oil or propane, do I qualify for rebates?
Yes. Homeowners switching from oil or propane to a cold-climate heat pump qualify for the $250/ton NHSaves rebate (up to 5 tons), plus the $650 NE Heat Pump Accelerator incentive on top. The highest tier, $1,250/ton, is reserved for homes replacing primary electric resistance heat like baseboard heaters or an electric furnace. We will walk you through exactly what applies before you commit to anything.
What heat pump brands qualify for NHSaves rebates?
Any heat pump listed on the NHSaves Qualified Product List qualifies. That includes Bosch IDS Ultra, Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat, Daikin, Fujitsu, LG, and other cold-climate models tested to perform at low outdoor temperatures. A.J. LeBlanc Heating is a registered installer for Bosch (Platinum Dealer), Mitsubishi (Diamond Dealer), Daikin (Comfort Pro), and LG (Pro Dealer Platinum), so the model in your quote is automatically rebate-eligible.
What is the NE Heat Pump Accelerator?
The Northeast Heat Pump Accelerator is a regional incentive program separate from NHSaves. It pays a per-unit incentive applied as a point-of-sale discount through participating distributors on qualifying cold-climate heat pumps under 5.4 tons. The Accelerator stacks with NHSaves rebates and is available to all NH homeowners regardless of utility provider or current fuel type. A separate Accelerator incentive applies to ENERGY STAR heat pump water heaters.
Do gas furnaces and boilers qualify for utility rebates?
Yes, if you are a natural gas customer of Liberty Utilities or Unitil. Both gas utilities offer rebates on qualifying high-efficiency gas furnaces (95 to 97 percent AFUE), gas boilers (90 to 95 percent AFUE depending on utility), and gas water heaters. The rebate amount depends on the equipment's AFUE rating and the utility's current program rules. We confirm the active rebate amount at the time of your estimate.
Do heat pump water heaters qualify for a rebate?
Yes. ENERGY STAR certified heat pump water heaters earn a flat $900 NHSaves rebate. The NE Heat Pump Accelerator stacks an additional $300 point-of-sale incentive on top. Heat pump water heaters are typically two to three times more efficient than conventional electric water heaters, which is why the rebate is one of the most generous in the NHSaves catalog.
I'm an NHEC member, can I get NHSaves rebates?
No. NHEC (New Hampshire Electric Cooperative) is a member-owned co-op and is not part of the NHSaves program funded by Eversource, Unitil, and Liberty. NHEC has its own member efficiency programs. Contact NHEC directly at nhec.com for member rebates that may apply to your installation. NHEC members still qualify for the NE Heat Pump Accelerator since that is regional, not utility-funded.
How do I know if my home qualifies for NHSaves weatherization?
Use our free 2-minute NHSaves Weatherization Prequalifier. It calculates your Home Heating Index (BTU per square foot per heating degree-day), checks your household against the 2026 NHSaves income-eligible limits, and routes you to every program path that fits. Final eligibility is verified by TurnCycle Solutions, the NHSaves-authorized auditor, and your utility.
Can weatherization rebates stack with heat pump rebates?
Yes. NHSaves explicitly allows combining the Home Energy Performance weatherization rebates (up to $6,000 on insulation, air sealing, and ventilation) with separate equipment rebates on heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, and water heaters installed at the same time. On top of that, the NE Heat Pump Accelerator point-of-sale incentive applies to qualifying cold-climate heat pumps regardless of stacking. One audit covers both halves of the project.
How much can I expect to save with rebates on a typical heat pump install?
A typical 3-ton cold-climate heat pump install qualifies for roughly $250/ton per ton in NHSaves rebates (oil, gas, or propane replacement) plus the $650 NE Heat Pump Accelerator on top. Replacing primary electric resistance heat unlocks the highest NHSaves tier and roughly doubles the rebate. Add optional 0% financing on the equipment and the upgrade is often cash-flow positive within the first year of operating cost savings.
