Annual Tune-Up

Central A/C Tune-Up

Central air conditioners work hardest on the hottest days, which is exactly when you cannot afford a failure. A.J. LeBlanc Heating technicians verify refrigerant charge, clean the condenser coil, and test every electrical component so small issues do not turn into a no-cool emergency in July.

  • Verify refrigerant charge and check for leaks
  • Inspect and clean condenser coil
  • Replace or clean air filter
  • Test capacitors, contactors, and electrical connections
  • Inspect blower motor and measure airflow
  • Check drain pan and condensate line
  • Test thermostat calibration and system operation
  • Provide written report of findings

Year-Round System Service

Heat Pump Maintenance

A heat pump runs in both directions every year, which means twice the operating hours of a cooling-only A/C and twice the reason to keep it tuned. We are a Bosch Platinum Dealer, Daikin Comfort Pro, LG Pro Dealer Platinum, and Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer, and we service every major heat pump line.

  • Test reversing valve and defrost cycle operation
  • Verify refrigerant charge in both heating and cooling modes
  • Inspect outdoor coil for debris and bent fins
  • Check crankcase heater and low-ambient operation
  • Test backup heat strips (if installed)
  • Inspect indoor air handler, coil, and blower
  • Confirm proper drainage and clean drain pan
  • Measure delivered heat output and cooling capacity

Ductless Systems

Mini Split Service & Repair

Ductless mini splits are efficient and quiet, but the indoor heads collect dust on the blower wheel and coil that no homeowner can reach. Annual deep cleaning plus refrigerant verification keeps cooling capacity where it belongs and prevents the slow efficiency loss that owners often blame on the equipment itself.

  • Deep-clean indoor head: blower wheel, coil, and drain pan
  • Rinse and replace washable filters
  • Inspect refrigerant lineset and flare connections
  • Verify refrigerant charge against manufacturer spec
  • Test every operating mode (cool, heat, fan, dry)
  • Clean outdoor unit and inspect for ice or fin damage
  • Diagnose component-level repair (board, fan, sensor) when needed
  • Confirm remote and thermostat communication
Why It Matters

Why Annual Cooling Service Pays Off

Full Cooling Capacity

A coil coated with dirt and a refrigerant charge that has drifted by even half a pound can rob noticeable cooling capacity. Annual service restores the system to its rated performance.

Lower Summer Electric Bills

A clean, properly charged system runs fewer minutes to hit setpoint. The difference shows up directly on July and August bills.

Longer Equipment Life

A dirty condenser makes the compressor work harder and hotter, which is the single fastest way to shorten its life. Annual maintenance protects the most expensive part in the system.

Warranty Compliance

Most manufacturer warranties require documented annual professional service. Keeping up with maintenance protects your coverage if a major component fails.

Common Questions

A/C, Heat Pump & Mini Split FAQ

How often should I service my A/C or heat pump?

Once a year is the standard recommendation. If you use your heat pump year-round for both heating and cooling, manufacturers typically recommend twice-yearly service, fall for heating season and spring for cooling season.

Do you service all A/C and mini split brands?

Yes. A.J. LeBlanc Heating is a Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer, Bosch Platinum Dealer, Daikin Comfort Pro, and LG Pro Dealer Platinum, and we also service Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, Fujitsu, and other major brands. Central A/C, heat pumps, and ductless mini splits, all makes and models.

My A/C is blowing warm air, can you repair it same day?

We will do our best. Low refrigerant, a failed capacitor, or a dirty coil are common causes and are usually repairable on the first visit. Call us at 603-623-0412.

Is a heat pump harder to maintain than a regular A/C?

Not significantly. The main additional check is the reversing valve and defrost cycle, which we test on every heat pump service visit. Since heat pumps run year-round, an annual tune-up matters even more than for a cooling-only A/C.

Do mini splits really need annual service?

Yes. Mini splits are low-maintenance but not no-maintenance. Indoor heads accumulate dust on the blower wheel and coil, and outdoor units need refrigerant verification and coil cleaning. Skipping service shortens equipment life and reduces efficiency.

Do you offer emergency A/C repair?

Yes, 24/7. Call 603-623-0412 any time.
